What does it mean to have support from a Doula?
Support comes in three forms: educational, emotional, and physical. Your doula has an innate ability to attune to you and recognize the ever-changing needs of the type of support you require.
Educational Support
It all starts with one question…. How?

- How will I manage?
- How can my partner support me?
When facing the unknown about your pregnancy and childbirth, we know how quickly the questions can pile up and fear can set in. Where we turn to for unbiased, evidence-based educational support makes all the difference.
As your Doula, I will help you:
- MAKE EDUCATED CHOICES - You will be provided with the information and resources necessary to understand typical interventions, minimize fear, and gain confidence in your birth choices.
- ASSERT YOUR DESIRES - To help you convey your labor and birth choices in a way that reflects your beliefs and what matters most to you, we will work together to develop a birth plan and communication tools.
- PREPARE FOR BIRTH - I will coach you and your partner on physical, mental and emotional techniques to help you unwind and feel at ease during the labor and delivery process.
VIRTUAL CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION SESSIONS
- 60-Minute Session: Birth planning session to thoroughly understand your wishes and preferences and to discuss typical interventions and what your options are, as well as a personalized one-page birth plan emailed to you. - $55
- 60-Minute Session: Covers the first (Dilation) and second (Birthing) stages of labor and what to expect during each phase, relaxation and pain relief measures, and how your partner can help each step of the way. - $85
- 60-Minute Session: Covers the third (Placental) stage as well as the Recovery and Integration Phase and includes such topics as the importance of immediate skin-to-skin contact and delayed cord cutting, breast-feeding/breast feed crawl, placenta encapsulation, and some things to expect postpartum. - $100
Emotional & Physical Support
EMOTIONAL:
- There might be a range of emotions associated with the idea of getting ready to navigate labor and eventually meet your baby. As your labor and delivery doula, I will be your sounding board and offer the caring support you require at any phase of your journey, from excitement to overwhelm.
- For you, the procedure will become more normalized when you see the affirmation in my eyes. You will feel at ease and at peace because of the understanding in my voice. My challenging inquiries will assist you in structuring your ideas and formulating a plan of action for moving forward.
PHYSICAL:
- Your physical needs will vary as labor progresses. You might even be surprised by some of them. As your doula, I can help you with everything from lower back pain and hip discomfort to nausea and shaking! I am able to help you at every stage. Your overall satisfaction with your labor experience depends on your physical comfort, and I am solely focused on you—what you need and when you need it. I am prepared to offer everything from a hip squeeze to a cold compress, soft music and a sip of water, special massage techniques, postural adjustments, etc. I will work with you and your partner, providing guidance throughout the labor & delivery process to help you create a birth experience that aligns with your desires.
BIRTH SUPPORT PACKAGE
You Will Receive:
- Up to 2 Private labor/birth preparation sessions held in your home.
- Birth planning session to thoroughly understand your wishes and preferences and to discuss typical interventions and what your options are, as well as a personalized one-page birth plan emailed to you.
- Continuous Active Labor Support
- After Birth Care (I help the new mommy to feel safe and supported after delivery; I provide physical comfort, and assist with any immediate needs while offering emotional support during this crucial transition period; I help with skin-to-skin contact and the facilitation of the first feeding; I support bonding between the baby and family)
- 1 In-home Postpartum Follow-up Visit
TOTAL INVESTMENT: $1,450
*There is a non-refundable retainer of $450 due at contract signing to secure your birth support services. The remaining balance is broken down into monthly installments with the last payment being due by 36 weeks.
